Tynda (Biased Notes)

WHAT'S LACKING IN THE CITY

At one time, there was a scaled model of Tynda in the city library.Everything looked so good in it!A luscious city park with fountains, a huge hotel, an indoor swimming pool.At the end of Shkol'naya Street there supposed to be a monument commemorating builders of BAM.I don't quite recollect what was depicted on it.I just remember it was something impressive and beautiful.

With the collapse of the USSR, communists and BAM, none of those plans can be fulfilled.

Here’s what was meant to be built:

• An Arts School
• A House of Pioneers
• A Youth Palace
• A Youth Athletics Schools
• A Concert Hall nearby the "Gilyui" movie theater
• A 12-story city hotel.The first 6 floors were actually meant for the hotel.The rest were going to be leased to the retail shops, firms, etc.
• An airport capable of serving 68 thousand passengers a month
• The locomotive repair and maintenance shops that were founded in 1979 and completed in 1985, were to be expanded and were to become the largest in the country
