THE FIRST DECADE.
1975-1985.
CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS.

Year 1975

• The arrival of the first train from Bamovskaya station to Tynda station
• "Orbit" TV station is made operational
• The foundation of the first 9-story apartment buildings is laid
• Tynda is visited by the USSR cosmonaut V. Lebedev
• "El'ga" eatery is opened

Year 1976

• State construction commission accepts the completion of the first 9-story apartment buildings.Overall quality - "good," the quality of the finish -- "excellent"
• A group of scientists, members of the scientific counsel of the USSR Academy of Sciences on BAM issues, arrives to Tynda
• The first mainline festival of amateur guitar singers takes place

Year 1977

• Museum of BAM history is opened
• Electricity from Zeya Hydroelectric Station comes to Tynda
• Bam - Tynda railroad line is made operational with a "good" overall grade

Year 1978

• 700 families receive apartments with all amenities
• A 1000 seat new school is opened as well as a district telephone station and an obstetrics house

Year 1979

• Tynda Railroad Management Agency is created
• An all-union young writer meeting takes place
• Hospital complex and the first 240 person kindergarten are opened
• The first Tynda - Moscow train departs
• The first frontline komsomol squad of railroad builders arrives
• Tynda bakery introduces its first product

Year 1980

• Tynda - Skovorokino radio relay line is created.Residents can now watch a second channel of programs
• The first passenger train departs from Tynda en route to Berkakit
• High voltage line LEP - 220 Tynda - Neryungri runs at its full capacity
• Tynda - Khabarovsk airplane route is opened
• Construction of the railroad station building has commenced

Year 1981

• Center of Household Services is operational
• The first asphalt-paved street appears in Tynda.It crosses most of the town.Of course it was Krasnaya Presnya.
• Bridge metal rod-and-concrete blocks factory is operational
• Moscow building A. Gusev is awarded a title of Hero of the Socialist Labor

Year 1982

• City counsel decides to award the USSR cosmonaut V. Lebedev with a title of the honorary citizen of the city
• First harvest is picked from the hothouse complex of the bridge builders
• Tynda greets a builders squad from Uzbekistan
• The first movie theater is built
• High voltage line is brought to Komsomol'sky settlement
• The first bell rings in a new school #3

Year 1983

• First freight train with Neryungri coal arrives from Berkakit station
• Tynda greets a large group of foreign journalists from Hungary, Bulgaria, Germany, Chekoslovakia and other countries
• A 124-apartment building is approved for use.SMP - 573 built it
• Famous Spanish singer Mitchel gives a few concerts in Tynda

Year 1984

• Begins construction of the "blue" 9-story apartment buildings.By year end, four are completed
• Passenger Express Tynda - Moscow formed by Tynda Railroad Management Agency departs
• A large group from the Bolshoi Theater arrives to Tynda.Ballet dancer Il'ze Liepa was in that group
• Congress of the All-Union frontline komsomol squads takes place

Year 1985

• Milk bottling and meat processing facility is operational
• Tynda celebrates its 10^th anniversary
• Eight Tynda residents are awarded with the title of the honorary city residents
